The County Fire Department has a very active training program delivered in three main components.

The first is formal training that is taught at the Fire Etc. in Vermillion Alberta. The Fire Etc. Training School follows standards set by the National Fire Protection Association. We encourage our members to take as many Fire Etc. courses as time allows.

The second component is Extension Courses where instructors within the department are Fire Etc. qualified to instruct courses. The courses are taught right at our fire station and are held on weekends to accommodate our volunteers. The candidates are evaluated by a third party proctor.

The third component is the internal fire practices that occur weekly where the focus is on our specific equipment and rural fire operations and anything else related to general fire protection.
